However, the television and the picture is only one component in a good home theater setup. Many people omit or disregard the others. Sound is often ignored. Although many high definition sets do offer satisfactory sound, there is a better option.
Humans utilize 2 of their 5 senses when watching television, or a movie- Sight and sound. I can tell you that when my parents watch a movie, their experience is greatly different than mine watching the very same movie. They, like many others of all ages, have recently purchased a high definition television and subscribed to high definition cable. However, their ‘sound’ experience is lacking. Mine is not.

Home theater systems
Thursday, January 22, 2009
I am a fanatic. I need to watch the football game downstairs in the basement on my 140 inch projection screen home theater system. I’ll watch Lost or Grey’s Anatomy upstairs with the family but when it comes to sports or movies there is no compromise. It needs to be big and it needs to be loud.
I’ve always been a home theater buff. Judging by the boom in the high definition television market, primarily in units over 50 inches, I’m not alone. The market is moving and it’s moving faster than ever. We’ve recently seen the battle between high definition DVD player formats settle in the favor of Blu-ray.
